An alternative look at the great outdoors...
We are up and ready to go by 7:30 as Adrian has to get to Ballater to catch a bus to Aberdeen by 6pm. We climb our two Munros Carn a' Choire Bhoideach (White Mounth) and Lochnagar (Cac Carn Beag) and then it was down to the Spittal of Glen Muick for lunch, harder going down than up, before saying our good-bys to Adrian. While chatting to the gillie we learn that he welcomes Challengers and can put them up in a bothy usually used by the MRT, just ring 33350 so that he has time to get the soup going.
From the Spittal we go up to the plateau and then across some difficult peat bog before a steep descent in to Water of Mark to find a camping spot below Balnaboon's Cave, whoever he was!
A long but satisfying day finishes off with hot chocolate before bed at 10pm.
