Day 8

Saturday 19th May - Dalwhinnie almost to Glen Feshie

Mic & J went to the station to meet Adrian, who was going to walk with us for a few days, and to collect our supplies. I woke at 7am to a cup of tea in bed - very nice. Boiled eggs for breakfast with a bead roll, and a bowl of Alpen, which arrived with Adrian.

After dividing up the supplies and posting home the dirty washing we set off at 9:45 crossing the river and following an aqueduct up to Loch Chuaich. The Scottish lads had told us that Meall Cuaich was an easy Munro and so we stopped for lunch at the end of the track and Mic & I shot up the 300 metres while J&A got the lunch ready. 50 minutes up and back was quite good going. After lunch and saying farewell to the two Scots we climbed Bogha-cloiche, which we had hoped was a Corbett but wasn't. From here it was a steep descent into the valley by Lochan t-Seilich for a quick tea break.

We were aiming to get to Glen Feshie for the night but when it started to rain heavily we stopped 3km short and pitched. While we were looking at our maps that evening we picked out 5 Munros which seem possible to do in one day. So tomorrow J, Adrian & Anne are going to White Bridge via Feshie/Geldie while Mic & I take the high route. We will then aim to meet up on Sunday night or Monday morning.

Good luck, we'll need it.
