We were up at 4:30 again but took our time and did not leave until 7:40, despite our late start there was no one in the site office so we could not pay. Later we got our just desserts. We took a wrong turn in the forest and went up the wrong fire break and so on to the wrong hill. We decided to go down into the valley and then climb back up to the correct hill but by the time we got to the foot of the hill I was shattered and my knee was playing up. I decided to call it a day and go low level letting the other three carry on with the high level route. I proposed to meet them at lunchtime the next day at Luibeilt Bothy but J&A then said that they also had had enough for the day but did not want to be the first to admit it! Deciding to stick together we back tracked into Glen Nevis and walked up through the gorge to camp just before Tom an Eite, 3km short of the bothy. Good meal as usual in the company of two Challengers (97 & 107) passing through after spending a day on the Ben and heading for the bothy. I shall do the washing up and my ablutions before heading to bed.
