An alternative look at the great outdoors...
We arrived early at Lochailort Station and walked down to the hotel to sign on and have lunch, very average but it filled a space. After lunch we started walking at 12:45 and wandered along the road and under the railway to leave the road and begin the steep pull along side of the Allt na Criche up to the saddle. As we crossed the stile Ann stepped in the soft peat and measured her length in the mud. Everyone else thought this quite funny!
From here we began the long, steep descent down to the River Meoble before the gentle amble along the north shore of Loch Beoraid, during which we, of course, stopped for tea. We arrived at our proposed camp site at 5:30 and drank more tea while putting the tents up, it is now 6:05 and we are waiting for supper. The weather has been beautiful all day but will it last? The Glasgow weather centre seems to think the weather will be settled for the next week. We have dinner at 6:30, soup, goulash, potatoes and veg, followed by coffee before retiring.
All in all a very good day.
